Day 4 – Buenos Aires (B, L)
Argentina has traditionally been a cattle-raising country. From the beginning, not only has it been the national source of income, but also a source of cultural representations: the Caudillo, charismatic leader, an expert in equally taming horses and people, is a constant presence in Argentinian politics since the beginnings of Argentine history; and the Gaucho, its complementary figure, is still one of the greatest icons of Argentina.
This tour will take us to an exclusive Estancia, which is 110 kilometres away from Buenos Aires near San Antonio de Areco, a Colonial town that in the 19th was the last civilised outpost before entering the land of the Indians. The rest of the day will pass at the peace and quiet of El Ombú de Areco, an exclusive ranch of the humid pampas. It’s an estate that originally belonged to Pablo Richieri. The main building, built in 1880, is surrounded by lofty galleries with lanterns, and has a beautiful four hectare park, full of oak trees, araucarias, palms, casuarinas, magnolias, and the huge ombu tree that gives the place its name. There, we’ll enjoy a succulent country grill and the best Argentine wines, or a superb international menu.
During the summer, lunch will be held below the namesake ombu tree. At the Estancia, we’ll be able to enjoy the pool and the solarium, go trekking or bird watching, or take part of the many rural activities performed there. And as a corollary to this exciting day, we’ll go horseback riding to see the Estancia, on one of their splendid –and tame– animals.
• TOUR INCLUSIONS: Private transportation to and from the Estancia, Bilingual Guide and BBQ Lunch. **Please bring your passport **

Our guides will stress the importance of carrying this receipt, but we would thank you for informing it to avoid inconveniences.
Day 6 – Puerto Iguazu (B, D)
Private Full Day Brazilian & Argentinean Iguazu Falls Tour from from Downtown Hotels in IGR / Including Entrance Fees
Days of Operation: Daily. Included: Transportation, English speaking guide, entrance fees and lunch. Duration: 8 hours approx. You will venture on a private full day tour of both sides of the falls. From the Argentinean side first, you will begin by walking along the many tracks on the side of the river and view the falls from platforms that bring you extremely close to the water. In the Indian Tupi Guarani language, Iguasu means large waters. Appropriately, the Iguasu River flows east west for 808 miles and then drops suddenly and violently into a 262-foot abyss at the falls. Set amidst jungle, a visit to these falls is unforgettable experience. (National park entrance fees are included). Once you have finished viewing the Argentinean side, you will be transferred to the Brazilian side to continue your private tour of the falls. Seeing the falls from the Brazilian side, will give you a completely different perspective of this attraction as you have a panoramic view of the entire falls. (National parks entrance fees are included).
You could also take an “optional” helicopter flight over the falls (approx. USD 90.00 per person). This flight takes around 7 minutes but is worth every cent. Please let your guide know if you would like to take the flight. The adventurous can take an optional trip on the Macuco Safari boat that travels upstream along the river and takes you extremely close to the falls. (COST NOT INCLUDED).
Shared Gran Aventura Boat Ride Tour – Days of Operation: Daily. Every hour from 9:00 am till 5:00 pm in Winter, and till 5:45 pm in Summer. Included: Boat ride tour only. This tour offers an exciting adventure within Iguazú National Park and in Lower Iguazú River. It is divided into 2 parts: firstly, the sailing on the semi-rigid boats to reach the bottom of San Martin, Bosetty, Tres Mosqueteros and Cañon de Garganta del Diablo falls and down the river rapids up to Puerto Macuco (3 kms from the Waterfalls); secondly, an 8 km ride in a special truck along the rainforest, observing the local flora and fauna with the aid of specialized guides. Feel and experience the Waterfalls in this tour! You can start this tour by boat and then walk, or the other way around. Please be prepared to get wet, so a waterproof poncho or spare clothing is recommended.

Dinner at Rosa Náutica / Including Private Return Transfers. Included: Return transfers & dinner.
Tonight, you will be picked up from your hotel by our driver and taken to ‘Rosa Nautica’ to enjoy dinner. When choosing a restaurant, one of the things to consider is the cuisine – its quality, diversity and flavours. But you must also consider the atmosphere, the magic and exclusivity of the place you have chosen. La Rosa Náutica fulfills both demands to perfection. Together with a group of professionals in gastronomy, the renowned Peruvian chef Enrique Blondet creates the most complete menu of Peruvian and International specialties. In November 2001, his exquisite creations delighted the participants of the XI Ibero-american Summit of Heads of State and Governments, including the King of Spain. The restaurant’s four dining areas, and its sophisticated bar “El Espigón” , rising from the midst of the ocean, allow the visitor to enjoy a magical experience, which can only be possible in a place of fantasy, capriciously constructed in the middle of the sea. Because of this wonderful location, the horizon, especially at the crucial sunset hour, can be best appreciated through the large windows or ample terraces. A dream come true when you seek peace, intimacy and comfort
Overnight: Pullman Lima Miraflores or similar
Day 9 – Lima to Puerto Maldonado (B, L, D)
This morning after breakfast we will be transferred back to the airport for our flight to Cordoba.
Upon arrival we will welcome you at the airport and drive you ten minutes to our Puerto Maldonado headquarters. While enjoying your first taste of the forest in our gardens we will ask you to pack only the necessary gear for your next few days, and leave the rest at our safe deposit. This helps us keep the boats and cargo light. Then transfer to port for your 45-minute boat transfer to the lodge. After a brief welcome, you will meet with the guides at the Lodge and review the activities that are available for you to take part in, starting from today.
Overnight: Posada Amazonas or similar
Day 10 – Posada Amazonas (B, L, D)
Guests can choose from a variety of activities available at the lodge. Below is a sample of activities:
- PARROT CLAY LICK The Parrot Clay Lick near our Posada Amazonas lodge is one of the best places to spy dozens of these spectacular birds. Your experienced guide will lead you on a biodiverse trail from the lodge, where you may see Macaws and other wildlife. Then, you’ll enter a comfortable, well-hidden viewing platform built out of clay and thatch. Due to its natural camouflage, this is the ideal place to spy on the nearby Parrots and Parakeets. Seven to 10 species visit the Clay Lick to munch on nutrient-rich clay, allowing you to see the incredible diversity of the Amazon all in one place! Duration: 1.5 hrs Difficulty: 2
- OXBOW LAKE After trekking away from the Tambopata River — past the hanging nests of Oropendola birds and fluttering fruit bats — you arrive at the Oxbow Lake. Separated by just a thin sliver of land from the river, this lake is a world away from those rushing waters. Here, tranquility reigns. But the Oxbow Lake’s calm waters and beautiful landscape bely the wild creatures, from tiny to giant, lurking just below the surface. On the Oxbow Lake Visit, you experience one of the most important and distinct habitats in the Amazon. They form when a river bend gets cut off from its main channel, transforming it into a calm lake. After a quick boat trip from the lodge, you hike a short distance inland to the lake. Then, you and your guide will take a pleasant ride around the lake to spot wildlife. Due to the lake’s diversity and fishfilled waters, you have a great chance of seeing the Hoatzin, a bizarre, dinosaurlooking bird, along with troops of Squirrel Monkeys, rare Giant Otters, huge Caiman, and majestic Macaws flying overhead. Duration: Half day Difficulty: 2
- MEDICINAL PLANTS TRAIL As you walk down the path, the quiet is broken by the sound of Capuchin Monkeys in the fruit trees above. Nearby, a Morpho Butterfly flutters its bright blue wings, and hundreds of insect types march along the forest floor. This unbelievable sight should come as no surprise: you’re in the world’s most biodiverse place, the Amazon, after all! And just as the animal world here is incredibly diverse, so too are jungle plants. Along our Medicinal Plants Trail, you’ll discover the amazing variety of Amazon plants — and learn about their traditional uses for healing. Near the lodge, you’ll discover how the jungle contributes to local healing. Plants play a key role to native people — as food, medicine, clothing, and building materials. Duration: 2.5hrs Difficulty: 1
- CANOPY TOWER As you crane your neck to see the top of the Canopy Tower, it doesn’t seem that high up. But when you ascend the staircase and reach the top platform, you realize just how high you are. Freed from the dense vegetation of the forest, you can see all the way to the horizon, framed by an endless sea of treetops. Most rainforest life is actually in the trees’ highest reaches: the canopy. While hiking through the jungle, the trees can rise over 60 meters (180 feet) above the ground, making you feel like you’re in an immense temple to nature. But the Canopy Tower is another story entirely. Reaching above the treetops, we’ve built several safe, sturdy towers that give you a bird’s eye view of the rainforest. Our guides will lead you on a hike to the tower and help out as you climb its steps at your own pace. Finally, you reach the top. There, you’ll be able to see miles of pristine forest stretching in every direction. Because animals are most active in the canopy, you’ll have incredible chances to see wildlife. In this unforgettable experience, you’ll be awed by the intimate views of treetop animals, paired with the sweeping panorama of the jungle Duration: 2hrs Difficulty: 2
Day 11 – Posada Amazonas to Cuzco (B)

Its agreeable climate and fertile plains make a rare and fruitful combination for the high Andes. It was also the route to the jungle and therefore an area with access to the fruits and plants of the tropical lowlands.
The Sacred Valley served as a buffer zone, protecting Cusco from incursions of the Antis, the fierce jungle tribes who from time to time raided the highlands. Today the Sacred Valley remains a lush agricultural region supplying the city of Cusco with much of its produce such as maize, fruit and vegetables.
**Depending on the arrival time at Cuzco Airport a stop at Awana Kancha Centre will be included** Awanacancha is a weaving centre and farm with the goal to keep alive the traditional textile arts. Here you can see four members of the camelid family – llama, alpacas, vicunas and guanacos of South America. Alpacas have thick wool and is the most used while the vicunas are small and delicate with fur considered the finest wool of the Camelids. You can meet these four camelids, learn about the harvesting of the different wools and the natural dying techniques, and have a chance to see native weavers from different areas showing their different weaving styles and dress.
Day 12 – Urubamba (B, L)
Full Day Authentic Sacred Valley with lunch – Private Service
Today’s first destination is Chinchero, a quaint little town that houses an important Inca archaeological center, built at the end of the 1400’s, as well as a lovely and very traditional church. We will visit “Urpi” a famous textile center where the townsfolk have preserved the traditional Andean spinning and weaving techniques, they will also show you how they get the vivid natural colours for their fabrics.
On our way to Ollantaytambo, we will stop at the lookout point of Racchi, where we will have the chance to have some of the best views of the Sacred Valley, after that, lunch will be served in a local restaurant. Afterwards, we will get to Ollantaytambo, one of the most monumental architectural complexes of the ancient Inca Empire, one of the few places where the Spanish conquistadors lost a major battle. Very well known for its “andenes” (terraces dug into the slopes of mountains for agricultural purposes), Ollantaytambo was a highly effective fortress that also served as a temple. Then, we will continue to the adjacent town of Ollantaytambo, “the unique living Inca town”: the best surviving example of Inca city planning, with narrow cobblestone streets that have been continuously inhabited since the 13th century. At the end of your tour, return back to your hotel in the Sacred Valley. Duration: 9 hours approximately
